Our company, Arterimpex Ltd, was founded in 1994 using private capital only, in the city of Gheorgheni, Harghita county. In 2003 the company acquired the local slaughterhouse and meat-processing facility and moved all the production activity to the new unit. Due to continuous growth of the business soon the company reached the current infrastructure’s limits and changes had to be made.

In 2008 the company obtained funds from the EU in excess of 5 million EUR. Following this major investment, the production capacity raised to 15 Tons/day, with a 2400 sq. Meter production floor, which currently is fully equipped with the latest technology machinery and meat processing equipment.

In 2017 and 2018 further investments were made, focusing on modernization, new equipment’s were purchased, and the cured and raw-dried production unit has been entirely renewed, these investments totaling 2,2 million EUR.

In 2019 the company successfully qualified for further funds from the EU of 2,5 million EUR, to expand the production floor with an additional 2000 sq. meters and to invest in new generation equipment.

In 2019 the company employs 325 people, works with over 1900 stores and restaurants, and operates 22 own butcher shops. Our products can also be found in the Transylvanian Kaufland stores, while many products are exported to Italy and Hungary.

Our products can be found under the “Benedek” or “Gastro Food” labels, and our portfolio includes 180 products.
